The power of half-truths

It's bewildering when, in a conversation or discussion, the other party produces half-true arguments. At first, it causes a kind of tilt in the brain as if you've suddenly taken another route and lost track for some seconds. Then you understand what's going on, but you can't respond to it immediately, you have to spend energy on redoing the path of the argument and this is time-consuming.
The problem is that, in a dialogue with someone who uses this kind of strategy, if you take time to think it's like you lost the argument, and they normally stop listening to you when they realize "I've won it". A couple of corrections by A are not quite correct. "... and lost track for few seconds". You need an "a" as in "... and lost track for a few seconds". "I've win it" is not correct. It could be "I've won it" or "I win it".
