This is funny to admit but I often get confused with the spelling of some common words like vacuum (vaccuum, vaccum), accommodation (accomodation), customer (costumer), and many more! hahaha

I usually write them out and see if they look weird or not and that's how I determine which is right. Lol

Check out this link for the common mistakes. https://www.learnenglish.de/spelling/commonspellingmistakes.html

I'm a big fan of motivational quotes as they definitely help me stay focused, and one of my favorite authors/motivational speakers to quote is Zig Ziglar.

This first one is so true for me! haha I tend to read at least one quote daily.

Share your favorites quotes guys and let's inspire each other! :)

Read this blog post earlier and thought some might enjoy her tips. :)

When the initial excitement of learning a new language begins to fade, it can be hard to stick with it.

You’ll learn way more if you spend 30 minutes studying everyday rather than say, 8 hours once a week.

My quick takeaway on this is to find an end goal (instead of just "randomly picking languages") and try to really be consistent!

What about you guys?

This is pretty funny! Haha

Lack toast and tolerant (instead of lactose intolerant)

A doggie-dog world (instead of dog-eat-dog world)

Self -depreciating (instead of self-deprecating)

I find her so lovely! :)

"Meet the 90-year-old dreaming of becoming a Tokyo 2020 Olympics guide

The Japanese capital, Tokyo, will be hosting the 2020 Olympic and Paralympics Games and volunteers and businesses are preparing to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Among them is a 90-year-old Japanese grandmother, who is learning English to so she can help tourists during the games."

Another great reason for learning a new language.

"In 2012, a group of Swiss researchers found that the process of learning a foreign language has discernible effects on the cerebral cortex.[1] After just three months of learning a new language, adult volunteers showed a thickening in this part of the brain, which is responsible for memory, learning, consciousness and language use. I stumbled upon this post https://www.fluentin3months.com/bad-language-learning-tips/ and find a couple points that I'm a little guilty believing/practicing in the past - like #4 & #7.

But I'm really guilty of #5 -choosing an "easy language". LOL.

How about you guys?

Do you have a couple of favorites that you can watch over and over again, no matter what your mood is?

Mine includes:

1. The Family Man

2. The Bucket List

3. Serendipity

4. Devil Wears Prada

5. Pursuit of Happyness

6. A Family Man

7. Spiderman

I know there are many great movies out there but these are some that I really don't mind watching again and again anytime of the day.

I can't find a similar topic so I thought I'd start one.

What languages are you learning (or trying to or simply interested) and why?

I'm learning Japanese (in a slow pace) and I had developed my interest when I met some Japanese as my clients in the past. I got so interested in their country and culture and I'm looking forward to visiting Japan soon.
