How about Oxford or Merriam's dictionary... They are the ones I usually used.

For Japanese people typically use edict based dictionaries such as https://jisho.org/

I would love to know what dictionaries Spanish learners prefer.

Yes. That's for English. For spanish I tried this one because according to some people its the best spanish online dictionary.

For Spanish, I suggest adding both:

http://dle.rae.es/

http://www.wordreference.com/

Reason: For reading literature, a dictionary including advanced words is needed to avoid the annoyance of 'translation not found'. Also, it is very important to include dictionaries that would work for intermediate or advanced reading material. Hence the RAE. I would also add wordreference as I see it as highly accurate and almost indispensible. https://es.thefreedictionary.com/ is another good option that seems to pull from RAE but also includes some bilingual synonyms.

I always use this for Spanish (especially when looking up phrases rather than words).

I find it extremely useful for seeing not only translations but how often a word is used in a given context and also if word has another common useage.

Learning Spanish very slowly :)

Hi there. I’ve noticed there are no supported dictionaries for German at the moment. I would recommend these to start with:

https://dict.leo.org/german-english

https://en.pons.com/

https://tureng.com/en/german-english/
