Hehehehe. I'm an introvert so it's reading, playing video games, or watching movies for me. :) I enjoy mindless yet fun movies like Wanted or Marvel flicks but I just...adore Moulin Rouge.

Baz Luhrmann's use of color and music is just...phenomenal. I also loved his other movies -- Strictly Ballroom, Romeo + Juliet, and Gatsby.

That's the only movie I skipped. So many people hated it. And I just...love him and his movies. Hahahaha! That and the premise wasn't that interesting for me.

You're the first person I encountered who liked it so maybe I'll get to that too one of these days. :)

I'm not even sure if I like it or not! But, like you said, his use of colour and music, the visual feast is irresistible!

He has a very distinct style. You'd recognized his movies because of his "signature". Like Tarantino and his use of blood and peppered motha****s. Or Lars Von Trier and your desire to slit your wrists after watching any of his films. Lol.

Tarantino is so viscerally amazing.

Aside from Pulp Fiction, a ton of great movies came out in 1994. I kind of regard it as the sweet spot of that decade, a time when people cared less about competing releases and more about putting out really great movies!

  • Leon, the Professional
  • Legends of the Fall
  • Stargate
  • Clear and Present Danger
  • Speed
  • Dumb and Dumber
  • Naked Gun 33 1/3
  • The Shawshank Redemption
  • The Mask
  • True Lies
  • Forrest Gump
  • The Lion King

Most are brilliant if you ignore the bizarre foot fetish scenes he randomly puts in (Juliet Lewis and Salmma Hayek both have one in dusk til dawn, uma Therman in kill bill etc.)

I felt that the Martian was excellent in that it was very low-key, very understated, and yet compelling to watch. Good stuff.

Yep, The Dark Knight was great. I loved Interstellar by Christopher Nolan too, although I didn't think Dunkirk was as good as some of his other stuff. I love Wes Anderson films too, they're so quirky!

Yes. It was the second movie of the series with Christian Bale as Batman. Heath Ledger played Joker... genuinely scared me!

Hahaha

I thought it was really smart how the story of how he got the scars kept changing every time he told it. Really added to the mystery and freaked me out!
